All we ever do is write essays and they aren’t even like, music related half the time so I’m not really entirely sure why it’s even MUSIC and Lit. Because it should be like, Essays and Lit or something. Essays and Essays, maybe.
And now she’s got us making a playlist for Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye and we have to explain why he’d like each song in at least five sentences not counting any lyrics we cite and ugh. I’ve got 8 and I’m completely stuck and I want something with screaming because I feel like that’s something he’d be into just because it sounds angry and he’s kind of an angry kid, you know?
But I’m don’t have time to listen to and/or google lyrics to every single screamo song in my iTunes by Friday so that’s not going to work out.
I have almost successfully worked a Let’s Get It song in there though. I just need four more sentences about it. “Holden’s an attention whore,” pretty much won’t cut it.
And every single song has to be about a different characteristic about him, so I can’t even do “Let’s Get Outta Here,” and “Break,” because they’re both about wanting to like, leave town. I mean, I can see not letting us make all of the songs about the same characteristic, but I feel like 10 different characteristics is kind of difficult. Maybe that’s just me.
And a few of my songs have multiple characteristics that they cover, like Let’s Get Outta Here is how he hates everyone AND how he wants to leave town, so can I not do a song about how he hates everyone now because I mentioned that was also relevant in Let’s Get Outta Here? Because that’s not fair.
OH and we have a final essay to write and we have to finish reading the book still, which I’m fine with because I actually love The Catcher In the Rye, but I don’t have time because I have like three OTHER final essays I have to write. I mean, as hard as this is going to be to believe, my life actually doesn’t revolve around Music and Lit.
She’s ridiculous. She should go be hormonal and pregnant somewhere else.
